TOLLS, HIGHWAYS AND INTERURBAN ROADS WILL INCREASE THEIR PRICE STARTING FROM JANUARY 1ST, 2024… AGAIN!

Drivers will face an increase in TAG and toll rates as from January 1, a blow to their pockets which is causing concern.
The Ministry of Public Works confirmed a 4.8% increase in toll and TAG rates, according to the Association of Concessionaires of Public Infrastructure Works (COPSA). This increase, in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI), will impact drivers as of January 1, 2024.

Minister Jessica López mentioned that this adjustment modality is contemplated in the concession contracts, scheduling the readjustments in January in relation to the previous year’s inflation. The increase, despite being foreseeable, generates discomfort and the search for alternatives to mitigate its impact.

Although included in the concession contracts, the annual announcement of rate increases generates consternation among highway and road users, sparking complaints and concern about the imminent economic impact.
